not much to nibble at today, but back from a long weekend, so will play a few races:

r2: alphabet song. we should see a very attractive prices on this hines miss as she drops into claimerville for the first time since breaking her maiden. if she has anything to offer, we'll see it today, turf to dirt with mike smith taking the call.

r6: diamond trick. another layoff for this mandella filly and she returns at what will probably end up being her best trip- sprinting on the lawn. she gets the blinkers, a high % maneuver for mandella and will be making all the pace in this soft race.

r7: exceeding. never liked martinblestme, and even though nakatani chooses 'martin, i'm backing the improving exceeding, who will probably be at least 6/1 in this cal-bred stake. doubt that there are any Officer's in here (700k thoroughbred corp. monster of a two years ago), but that's ok, exceeding will be on the lead in here and i look for her to be tough to run down if she get a little breather early in the race.

r8: wiki wiki magic. granted, the name is awful, but this field is as empty as they come. 'wiki took some money in her debut, but failed to show much interest. now, she gets teh drop into claimerville and has a series of strong works for howard zuker. looking for isias enriquez to pick up his first win of the meet here.

sammy, will try to post del mar on tuesday evening. congrats on the pick-6. the $1200 was not a bad payout considering 5 favorites won. as for watch horses, i have a couple (will add to the watch horse thread as well).

American Liberty- ran in the fourth at del mar on saturday aug. 8th. pval, who usually keeps his horses out of trouble, put this one in the shuffler in the mile turf event for maidens. the horse was a little tentative and was sort of running in spots on the backstretch. when given his head, he hesitated, got squeezed into the shuffler and dropped back to last. seems like a colt who would benefit from a rally-wide trip running a mile and an eigth and beyond.
